The Department of Surgery is a Level II training institution accredited by the Philippine Society of General Surgeons (PSGS). It is committed to providing a structured and comprehensive training program that equips residents with the knowledge, technical skills, and clinical judgment necessary for surgical practice. Through supervised clinical experience, residents are trained to manage a broad spectrum of surgical conditions while developing proficiency in both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

The training program offers a broad and progressive exposure to diverse general and subspecialty surgical cases, including trauma and cardiovascular surgery. Residents also participate in medical missions and the department’s charity services, providing accessible surgical care and assistance to patients who are financially or otherwise unable to obtain necessary treatment.
